Jim Parke, Attorney

Jim Parke is an experienced attorney, business executive, and board member. His professional passion is helping people find answers to their most pressing problems. His experience helps his clients find real-world solutions to complex business, tax, and estate planning issues. He has assisted clients with the formation of hundreds of businesses and has drafted hundreds of estate plans. 

Jim and his wife Megan have five exceptional children. He and his family spend their free time traveling and learning. Jim recognizes the importance of family, as well as of team pride. Sports are an important part of Jim’s and his family’s lives, and together they cheer on Gonzaga University. 

Jim is the president of the Fort Collins stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His service here grants him a unique perspective on the intersection of administration and personal ethics. Jim has given keynote speeches on related subjects at various organizations across the country and regularly speaks on the topics of leadership and business ethics. 

Having held key executive positions in various industries, Jim has a deep understanding of corporate governance, contract negotiations, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic decision-making. This wealth of experience empowers him to deliver comprehensive legal solutions that align with his clients' overarching business objectives. 

In practice, Jim leverages his dual expertise (as an attorney and as a businessman) to offer tailored advice to startups and established corporate entities alike. His proven skills also catalyze his clients through estate planning; a process which, in partnership with Keele & Parke, is characterized by efficiency and certainty. 

Jim practiced law in Denver at the beginning of his career, representing both business owners and high-net-worth families. Jim spent seven years as the President and CEO of Otter Products, LLC, the global leader in mobile accessories. He operated the parent corporation of over 30 companies. Jim also served as the CEO of a private family office for nine years. Before this position, he played the role of Chief Legal Officer for Otter Products. These experiences have given Jim practical experience in various business and legal transactions and now allow him to counsel his clients from a place of understanding and trust. In addition to legal services and business experience, Jim is also an investor and mentor for several startup companies. He has served on the boards of both startup companies and international corporations. Jim has led corporate expansions across seas and led mergers and acquisitions across industries. He has handled transactions of all sizes; from initial formation agreements to transactions valued at over $600 million. Jim oversaw several billions of dollars of corporate debt through syndicated loans.  

Jim graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree (summa cum laude) from Weber State University in 2003. He graduated with his Juris Doctor (magna cum laude) in 2006 from Gonzaga University School of Law. He furthered his education with a postgraduate Master of Laws in Taxation in 2007 from New York University School of Law. Jim is licensed to practice law in Colorado and Utah. He serves as a notary public in Colorado. 

Jim is active in his community and offers various non-profit organizations his support. He serves on the board of directors for two Northern Colorado hospitals; Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, and the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland. He is a member of the National Advisory Council of Weber State University and a member of the Board of Advisors for Gonzaga University School of Law. Previously, Jim volunteered with the Wheatley Institute Board of Advisors (as part of the Brigham Young University Marriott School of Business), with the Denver/Boulder Better Business Bureau, and with the Boy Scouts of America.
